South Korean broadcasting company Total Variety Network (tvN) recently concluded “The K2” (더 케이투), a political drama which stars Ji Chang Wook (지창욱) and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA (윤아).
In the drama, Ji plays Kim Je Ha (aka K2), an ex-soldier and bodyguard, while YoonA portrays Go Anna, the illegitimate daughter of a politician. The pair was lauded for their compatible chemistry as forbidden lovers, which sparked dating rumours.
The 29-year-old actor slammed the speculations, describing their relationship as “close oppa and dongsaeng” (which means older brother and younger sister in Korean).
“The dating rumours involving YoonA are not true. I just worked hard and, again, a lot of people came to misunderstand this time. So I thought, ‘Again?’ and just laughed. I’ve also talked to YoonA about these rumours and we just laughed it off. I always try to be very considerate of the actress. I think good acting results when working together in a comfortable environment. And that also helps to increase the viewers’ focus but that tends to lead to misunderstandings. I think that’s what happened again this time,” he told DongA daily.
Aww, such a pity 🙁 They look so cute together!
In other news, Ji Chang Wook will starring in Lotte Duty Free Shop’s web series, “7 First Kisses” (첫키스만 일곱번째), alongside other Hallyu heartthrobs including Lee Min Ho, Lee Jong Suk, Park Hae Jin, EXO’s Kai, Lee Jun Ki, and 2PM’s Taecyeon.
