Jack Sparrow in the wizarding world? Wow, what a time to be alive!
Warner Bros. spokesman Paul McGuire has confirmed that Johnny Depp will be starring alongside Eddie Redmayne in the 2nd instalment for J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them”. Sources also hinted that he will make a cameo appearance in the first film.
According to USA Today, the studio kept the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor’s appearance under wraps until word leaked out after journalists watched early screenings of the upcoming fantasy film.
Based on J.K. Rowling’s original script, “Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them” is set in New York City during the 1920s, which is about 70 years before the events of “Harry Potter”. The story follows the adventures of a distinguished Magiczoologist known as Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayme) and it features the wizarding community in the US.
In a fan event last month, the British author announced that she will write 5 “Fantastic Beats” films for Warner Bros.
Truth be told, we are dying to know Depp’s role!

“Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them” will see its release in cinemas on 18th November 2016 while the sequel is slated for release on 16th November 2018.
