YG Entertainment has announced that WINNER member Nam Taehyun will be halting all his activities indefinitely due to problems affecting his psychological health. The announcement comes as YG Entertainment informs fans about the postponement of WINNER’s comeback.
In a statement, the entertainment powerhouse explained that the singer has been facing mental health issues since he was a trainee, but it was manageable. However, his condition worsened during the past few months and it came to a point where it started to be detrimental to his health.
The full statement reads:
“After discerning that it would be difficult for him to continue promoting, we have decided that his future activities will be suspended in order for him to focus on treatment. This has been done because the most important priority is his health. He has been staying at home with his mother and is receiving treatment instead of staying at the dorms.
We currently cannot predict WINNER’s timeframe for their promotions, which is regrettable. However, the other WINNER members, along with YG, are putting in their best effort to overcome the 1st crisis that has hit the team.”
YG Entertainment also explained that they did not inform fans earlier as they were expecting Taehyun to recover. They had also wanted to continue with WINNER’s activities, but unfortunately, it was not to be.
