“Life doesn’t give you seatbelts.”
First, we were treated to a closer look at Batfleck Batman/Bruce Wayne (played by Ben Affleck) via the full “Justice League” trailer that director Zack Snyder decided to surprise fans with during the Warner Bros./DC panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
Now, we’re getting a glimpse of another, perhaps less serious Batman of a different kind.

If the latest “Justice League” footage was too dark and gritty, well, then this is certainly a breath of fresh air.
Screened at Hall H, the new “The LEGO Batman Movie” trailer offers a closer look at the Caped Crusader (voiced by Will Arnett) in his fully-bricked glory. It also introduces Robin (voiced by Michael Cera), a young orphan that Bruce Wayne accidentally and “sarcastically” (whatever that means) adopted at a charity gala. Robin is seen stumbling around in the Wayne Manor before walking right into the Batcave and then helping himself to an array of costumes.
All on Batman’s watch, of course.

The Joker (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) and Harley Quinn (blink and you’ll miss her) also makes an appearance in the trailer, as well as the LEGO version of the fan-favourite character, Alfred Pennyworth (voiced by Ralph Fiennes). While we’re loving the use of the traditional version of Harley Quinn, because the characters are all LEGO figures, the Joker looks like he could be more annoying than threatening.

Oh yes, there’s also a fleeting glance at LEGO Barbara Gordon and of course, the Justice League.

We’re 100% appreciating the healthy amount of humour in the new trailer, as one would expect from a LEGO-themed flick. One of our favourite lines from the footage was when, upon walking right into Batman, Robin said, “Wait, does Batman live in Bruce Wayne’s basement?” to which Batman replied in sheer frustration, “No, Bruce Wayne lives in Batman’s attic.”
Also, seatbelts :D
It’s safe to say that it just keeps better and better for “The LEGO Batman Movie”. Watch:
