It’s explosive and insane!
We’re talking about the 1st official trailer from the long-awaited sequel “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”. Staying true to his word, Vin Diesel gave fans the 1st look at the brand new exciting action thriller.
To quote Oliver Gettell, “any action hero can save the world, but only 1 man can do it while skiing through a jungle, carving a skateboard along a moving vehicle, and riding a motorcycle atop churning waves“. That man is Diesel, and he’s more than ready to kick some major butt.
The extreme-sports-enthusiast-turned-spy movies have been all the hype lately, but the trailer words it in more poetic terms: “We need someone who can walk into a tornado and come out the other side like it was a damn gentle breeze.”
If that’s too vague for you, allow Samuel L. Jackson (who returns to reprise his role as the NSA Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons) to paraphrase: “Let me simplify it for you. Kick some ass, try to look dope while you’re doing it.”
After sitting out on the 2nd instalment, the 49-year-old action star (who first appeared in the original “xXx” back in 2002) is back as the professional thrill seeker turned government agent, and he’s ready to defy the laws of physics, while looking cool doing it.
The official synopsis for “xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage” reads:
“The 3rd explosive chapter of the blockbuster franchise that redefined the spy thriller finds extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments.”

Directed by D.J. Caruso, the action-packed film also stars Deepika Padukone, Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose, Kris Wu, Toni Collette, Rory McCaan, Tony Jaa, and Conor McGregor.
“xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” is slated for release on 20th January 2017.
