“Hwarang: The New Beginning”, also known as “Flower Knights”, will be KBS2’s new upcoming drama that will be airing in July 2016. Like “Descendants Of The Sun“, this drama series will be 100% pre-produced.
The period K-Drama is a coming-of-age story about passion and love in Seorabeol, the capital city of Silla Dynasty 1,500 years ago.

The drama has already caught a lot of attention for its star-studded cast. The broadcasting company confirmed that Go Ara (고아라), ZE:A’s (제국의 아이들) Hyung Sik (박형식), and Park Seo Joon (박서준) will be the main lead characters while actors Do Ji Han (도지한) and Jo Yoon Woo (조윤우) will be the supporting characters.
Aside from Hyung Sik, the producers also casted other popular K-Pop male idols like SHINee’s (샤이니) Choi Min Ho (최민호), and BTS’s (방탄소년단) V (김태형) to star in the show. With so many handsome stars, this drama is definitely going to be an eye-candy mania.

Here are some of the characters’ details:
Aro (played by Go Ara) is born to parents of different social classes. Although she is a commoner, her attitude is as confident and dignified as any noble. She is a straightforward woman who is the love interest of Moo Myeong (played by Park Seo Joon) and Sam Maek Jong (played by Hyung Sik).
While Moo Myeong is the legendary “dog-bird knight” who wants to live his life without regrets like a dog and freely like a bird, Sam Maek Jong is a sensitive and irritable king who wants to make himself known to the world.

Other characters includes romantic playboy Suho (played by Choi Min Ho), competitive and cold-hearted Banryu (played by Do Ji Han), mysterious but foul-mouthed Yeo Wool (played by Jo Yoon Woo), and warm charming maknae Hansung (played by V).
It was also reported that Lee Kwang Soo (이광수) will appear as a special cameo in one of the episodes.

We can’t wait for the drama to air because where else are you going to get a glimpse of all your favourite idols in one TV show? 🙂
