Another 5 highways have gone cashless effective today (Wednesday, 2nd March).
According to TMI, the Association of Highway Concessionaires Malaysia (PSKLM) announced last Friday (26th February) that 22 toll plazas covering 5 highways will implement the electronic toll collection (ETC) system today at midday. As such, the Touch ‘n Go or SmartTAG will be the only method of payment at the toll plazas.
The 5 highways are:
- Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas)
- Western KL Traffic Dispersal Link System (SPRINT)
- Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE)
- Kajang-Seremban Expressway (Lekas)
- Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor (Latar)
PSKLM vice-president Sazally Saidi said that the association was working closely with all the concessionaires to elevate the quality of their services for all road users. He added that association has increased the number of top-up toll booths from 26 to 58, and that they will be open 24 hours for the convenience of road users.
On top of that, there’s also an offer for a new SmartTAG at RM99 (11,000 units available, normal retail price is RM128) and a 10% rebate for Class 1 vehicles from today until 30th April 2016.
Meanwhile, Lekas users who used the highway before noon today can still pay cash if they exited before midnight.
