Unless you’ve been living under the rock, you would have probably heard or seen all of the outlandish moments at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).
However, the most epic moment at the 2015 MTV VMA goes to the Nicki Minaj/Miley Cyrus feud.
Nicki won “Best Hip-Hop Video” for “Anaconda” at the 2015 MTV VMA on Sunday night. During her acceptance speech, she started out by thanking all her fans and one of her mentors. However, she ended it by calling out Miley for an interview she gave to the New York Times last week.
“You know who I want to thank tonight? My pastor,” Minaj said. “I love you so much. And now, back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me in the press. Miley what’s good?”
Cyrus was apparently caught off-guard by Minaj’s comments. Before plugging the show, she responded to Nicki’s comments by saying:
We’re all in this industry. We all do interviews. We all know how they manipulate. Nicki, congratulations.
She added, “Just because the VMAs have already started doesn’t meant the voting is done. You can still vote at home for who you think is the future of music. It’s the Artist to Watch award. The past winners of this award gone on to incredible success and the past losers of the awards have still gone on to make their mark on the VMA stage. Me. I lost this award back in 2008 and I was fine with it. Whatever, because it’s no big deal! It’s just an award and I persevered! So here are the nominees still vying for your vote. Congratulations, Nicki.”
Moments after the VMAs, Minag responded to Miley’s remarks by tweeting “Lmfaooooooooooooo” and a trio of heart-eye emoji:

Many believed that the incident was staged, but a source close to MTV told EW that it wasn’t.
As the feud became one of the most talked-about moments of the MTV VMAs, late night host Jimmy Kimmel expertly rehashed the whole drama by using only emojis on Monday’s episode of his talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. The presentation perfectly summarised the whole Nicki/Miley beef and ended with a short summary of Kanye’s long-winded speech when he accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
