Previously known as “Dalmatian”, DMTN is a six-member K-Pop idol boy group managed by IS Entermedia Group. DMTN consists of members Inati, Dari (currently fulfilling mandatory South Korean military enlistment time), Simon, Donglim, Jeesu, and “maknae” Daniel.
The group has previously released two mini albums to date and had just made their long-awaited comeback earlier this year, after moving to a new label (from Monkey Funch Entertainment to IS Entertainment Group) and changing their group name (from “Dalmatian” to “DMTN”).
But it seems that a major setback has come to rain on their parade.
Moments ago, it was reported that DMTN’s “maknae” (aka youngest), Daniel is in some serious trouble. An arrest warrant has been issued against the 22-year-old idol for the sale and use of marijuana. In fact, the report specifically states that Daniel also under suspicion of repeated marijuana use from September 2012 to December 2012. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s narcotics division filed the warrant this past 8th.
Oh boy. This is going to make G-Dragon’s case look like a walk in the park. Or the South Korean actresses’ Propofol abuse look like eating a sandwich on a sunny day, on a park bench. You get the picture – this weighs really, really heavily upon not only Daniel but also DMTN and their agency.
Meanwhile, DMTN’s agency has released a statement which says, “The situation is more complicated than what the report states.We’ll give you a detailed explanation later on”. Uh oh.

DMTN’s label has since released an official statement which reads:
Daniel was investigated by the police and prosecutors on the 9th. At first, the prosecutors suspected him of smoking it himself and ran a drug test on his hair and urine. However, all his tests came back negative. He was acquitted on the charge that he smoked marijuana, and was investigated for the other charges.
Daniel immaturely and thoughtlessly believed that as long as he did not smoke himself, it wasn’t a big crime, and that’s what led to this incident. He’s currently deeply reflecting on his actions. He feels guilty that he acted rashly and committed such a big crime.
Daniel has not received a court sentence yet, but he does not want to make excuses for his mistakes. He wants to pay the consequences under the law, and the staff is supportive of his decision. We plan to help him mature as a member of society in the future.
