BEAMS x Birkenstock “Boston EVA”
The Japanese brand BEAMS has once again joined forces with Birkenstock to create a sandal that’s on a whole other level. The two brands have reworked Birkenstock’s iconic Boston model, giving it an eco-friendly makeover, transforming it into the “Boston EVA” sandals.
As the name suggests, these new slip-ons are fully made from EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) materials. They’re incredibly lightweight and elastic, and feature a flexible upper that guarantees a comfortable fit that any foot, regardless of shape and size, can slide right into.
The footwear features proper shock resistance and outstanding cushioning, all while retaining the properties and design choices that made its original so loveable in the first place. Furthermore, thanks to its eco-friendly design, the Boston EVA comes with an integrated outsole, which provides non-slip wear and high water resistance.
Available in black, khaki, eggshell, and roast brown, the Boston EVA will be available on 10th August for only US$73 (~RM325).
OTW by Vans’ “Engineered Knit” Pack
Vans continues to push the boundaries of footwear, as well as the needle, with its fresh new spin on skating shoes. This time around, as part of its “Engineered Knit” pack, the OTW line has reworked both the Half Cab and Old Skool 36 models.
Both versions of the sneakers are engulfed in a one-piece knitted panel, detailed with hits of Vans’ iconic chequerboard design throughout. Each version is dipped in athletic mesh, guaranteeing optimal comfort; its short cotton blend adds an additional softer touch with a warmer feel. The Half Cab, on the other hand, features a moulded collar foam lining around the heel for additional support.
The Half Cab surfaces in a green/blue colourway with black and white chequerboard accents, as well as a black/navy colourway with black and white chequerboard. As for the Old Skool 36, the sneaker arrives in an earthy brown/white and a green/black colourway.
