2 New Drops From Formex & Cartier Serve Luxe Adventure Vibes For The Gods!

by Dean Zaini
June 10, 2025

Formex Essence Ceramica

Formex celebrates its 25th anniversary with the Essence Ceramica, a full black ceramic watch that pushes the boundaries of design and technology. It features the world’s first fully ceramic quick-adjust bracelet clasp, offering smooth micro-adjustment without any visible metal parts.

This combination of innovation and style makes the Essence Ceramica stand out in the crowded ceramic watch market.

Thanks to its connection with Dexel, a trusted supplier to high-end Swiss watch brands, Formex delivers exceptional craftsmanship.

Unlike most ceramic watches at this price point that only offer polished or sandblasted finishes, the Essence Ceramica combines brushed surfaces and diamond-polished bevels for a premium look and feel.

The watch’s patented suspension system suspends the movement inside the case to protect against shocks, while the skeletonised dial offers a view of the COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement inside. This blend of technical sophistication and aesthetic appeal makes it perfect for watch lovers who appreciate both engineering and design.

The Essence Ceramica is available in four limited-edition colourways, including the GT with rose gold-coloured indices and three Stradale variants featuring white, violet, or blue Super-LumiNova accents. Each edition is limited to 88 pieces, offering exclusivity for collectors and enthusiasts.

This model features a 41mm black zirconium oxide ceramic case with a comfortable fit, and a bracelet designed for durability and ease of adjustment. It balances sporty with refined details, making it suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions.

The Formex Essence Ceramica will retail from US$4,250 (~RM19,300) and will be available for delivery starting July 2025. Each colourway is limited to 88 pieces, so be sure to secure yours early.

Cartier Tank à Guichets

Cartier has revived a rare icon from its archives: the Tank à Guichets, first introduced in 1928. This vintage-inspired timepiece features hour and minute discs visible through small apertures on the dial, offering a unique early digital display that reflects Cartier’s innovative spirit from nearly a century ago.

The highlight of the collection is a platinum limited edition called the Tank à Guichets Oblique. It sports a driver-style layout with the hour window rotated to 10 o’clock and a crown positioned at 12 o’clock, a design that nods to the original while adding a bold modern twist.

For fans of classic style, Cartier also offers the Tank à Guichets in yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum. These models maintain the traditional layout with hours at 12 o’clock and minutes at 6 o’clock, measuring 37.6 by 24.8 mm and just 6mm thick, making them versatile and comfortable for any occasion.

All versions are powered by Cartier’s new hand-wound 9755 MC jump hour caliber, combining vintage aesthetics with reliable modern mechanics. These watches focus purely on craftsmanship, with no water resistance or luminous features, delivering timeless elegance.

Collectors will appreciate the exclusivity of this release, with the Oblique platinum edition limited to 200 pieces. Other models are expected to be produced in limited quantities, underscoring the Tank à Guichets as a coveted piece of Cartier’s heritage.

The Cartier Tank à Guichets Oblique in platinum retails from US$45,000 (~RM203,000) and is available now at Cartier boutiques. Keep an eye out for pricing details on the upcoming classic gold and platinum models.
