Sneaker drops don’t get cooler than this.

Anime heads and sneaker fiends, assemble. Converse is throwing a “Shadow Clone Jutsu” on the sneaker game with the Naruto Shippuden x Converse Chuck Taylor Pack, and it’s every bit as iconic as the characters it’s inspired by.

Dropping this 22nd May, the collection pays tribute to three of the most unforgettable shinobi in anime history – Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Gaara – each reimagined through the legendary Chuck Taylor silhouette.

First up, the Naruto pair is loud, fiery, and full of main character energy. It’s decked out in his signature orange with bold black laces and features the Eight Sign Seal – the very one that’s kept the Nine-Tails under control all these years. The shuriken-inspired metallic patch and the Hidden Leaf symbol on the heel plate? Subtle flexes for true fans who know the lore. You’re not just wearing sneakers – you’re stepping into Naruto’s shoes, quite literally.

Sasuke’s version is a clean, brooding contrast. Drenched in off-white with purple rope-style laces, it channels that iconic Orochimaru-arc fit we all loved (and feared). The details are where it shines: the Cursed Seal of Heaven sits proudly as a nod to his darker days, while the blue heel stripe adds a nice touch of rebellion. His scratched-out Leaf Village plate on the heel? Chef’s kiss for drama.

Then there’s Gaara – the underrated fashion king of the Sand Village. This deep red pair doesn’t just look good, it feels poetic. With the kanji for “love” stitched on the collar and cracked textures that mimic the shifting desert under his command, this one tells a whole story. The sand gourd symbol adds that final storytelling touch, turning this from just another sneaker into a wearable manga panel.

Retailing at US$80 (~RM353) for adults, the Naruto Shippuden x Converse Chuck Taylor Pack will be available on 22nd May via Converse and select retailers.

Nike Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Washed Teal”

If your summer rotation is feeling a little dry, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Washed Teal” is here to bring the drip – literally. Dropping on 18th June, this fresh take on the AJ1 Low blends classic court energy with beachside cool, making it the ultimate flex for sneakerheads who like their kicks with a side of icy attitude.

This colourway leans all the way into texture play. The washed teal upper has that acid-washed, sun-faded vibe – like your favourite vintage tee, but make it suede. Layer that with a shaggy suede Swoosh that practically begs to be touched, and you’ve got a pair that’s low-key experimental but still easy to style.

The tonal tie-dye laces add an unexpected punch, serving up a DIY aesthetic that screams “limited edition” even when it’s not.

What really seals the deal (pun intended) is the semi-translucent green outsole. It doesn’t just tie the colour story together – it elevates it.

The whole build feels cohesive and chilled-out, yet still luxe, like something you’d wear while sipping iced matcha in an art gallery that only plays Kaytranada. It’s the kind of sneaker that gives just enough edge without trying too hard.

There’s also a subtle tweak in the silhouette worth mentioning: early looks have revealed a “Big Swoosh” build, subtly shifting the proportions to make that iconic logo pop a little more.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Washed Teal” is set to cool things down just in time for summer, with a release planned for 18th June. With that washed suede, shaggy Swoosh, and tie-dye laces, this one’s bringing serious vibes.
