Earlier on Wednesday (3rd February), a teenager and his father were detained by the Kelantan police for their involvement in a drug trafficking syndicate.

The 18-year-old and his dad, who works as a scrap metal dealer, reportedly had been living a lavish lifestyle. Shockingly enough, the boy even owned a BMW 6 Series car!

Two separate raids were made, where the police managed to detain three individuals in a roadside shed in Kampung Tok Che Dol, Tanah Merah during the first raid at 3:45pm. The police seized 800 Yaba pills worth RM8,000 and also two motorcycles worth RM10,000. The police also arrested three men, aged between 22 and 25, all of whom were unemployed.

ACP Sheik Azhar Sheik Omar, Head of the State Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department stated, “The results of the investigation found that the three suspects have one to five previous criminal records related to drugs and crime. The results of the urine test also show that they tested positive for methamphetamine.”

Sheik Azhar added that a second raid was carried out on a house in RPK Gual Ipoh also in Tanah Merah at 4:30pm. The team managed to bust the father-and-son duo who were at the house. They then brought the police to a nearby bush area where they stored the illegal substances.

“We have found 5,000 Yaba pills, 26 bottles of heroin weighing 104 grams and 100 grams of syabu, estimated to be worth RM112,000. The police also seized a BMW car as well as a Perodua Myvi and Proton Satria and three motorcycles. It’s believed that the luxury car confiscated are the result of drug sales,” the police chief was quoted as saying.

“The total confiscation was worth RM203,829 while the drug seizure amounted to RM120,000, making the total seizure amounting to RM323,829,” he added.
