Fans of Japanese retail company, Muji, you’d be glad to know that Muji Singapore will open a cafe (Cafe&Meal) in a couple of months!
This is in line with what MyPaper reported a year ago, shortly after Muji opened its flagship outlet at VivoCity and a concept store at Changi Airport Terminal 2. Back then, it was said that more Muji product lines were expected to make their way to Singapore, including services like a cafe and renovation services.
Well, Muji kept their promise!
According to The Straits Times, the Muji Cafe&Meal will open its doors at Paragon mall along Orchard Road in Singapore on 5th September. The 122 sq m premises will be adjacent to its current Muji outlet in the shopping mall and the store will undergo a revamp in line with the cafe’s opening.
As it stands, there are 23 Cafe&Meal outlets in Japan and 4 outlets overseas (2 in Hong Kong, and 1 each in Chengdu and Taiwan). The design of the cafes is synonymous with the Japanese lifestyle brand of minimalist chic, with simple wood furnishing.
Menu items served at Muji Singapore’s Cafe&Meal outlet will be based on the deli offerings and recipes from Japan, but using ingredients from Singapore or Malaysia. There will also be an emphasis on desserts, such as baked pudding, a popular item in Japan.
Yum 😉
