Recently, there has been significant chatter surrounding Ruhainies ever since her “khalwat” controversy with the actor Aliff Aziz. Despite that, she still remains active on Instagram – posting every now and then. She recently posted an apology to Bella Astillah in hopes to make peace with her.
Earlier this week, the actress uploaded an Instagram story featuring the famous Belgian-based chocolatier, Godiva, sparking speculation among netizens. The caption “Ufff @godivamalaysia S A U” was very eye-catching and the netizens started to question whether the brand had collaborated with the star.
However, the brand denied ever collaborating with the star or any local ambassador. Godiva even posted an Instagram post afterwards to clarify the rumours after it went viral. Netizens got their prompt clarification; there’s even a netizen who requested Ruhainies to delete her Instagram story that tagged the brand or they will boycott the brand.
Most of the comments left by the netizens supported the brands’ action, saying “@godivamalaysia good job godiva” and “lolll nice one. Sassyy“. There are also a few people who stayed rational and commented, “Come on guys, it doesn’t mean she tagged the brands, she’s an ambassador.. Everyone who bought and enjoyed the ice cream will tag the brands, right?“Don’t condemn the brands just because of someone you hate.” While the others were quick to comment “boycotttt” and “You guys are quick to boycott but have you guys ever eaten it?” showing mixed reaction from the netizens.
Despite Ruhainies recent notoriety, social media users continue to boycott her actions, even urging brands to refrain from collaborating with the 31-year-old actress. For all its severity, this stance reflects the determination of netizens to prevent her resurgence in popularity.
