An International Ramadhan Feast by 7 Chefs!

The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur is already well known as an urban retreat surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. So tranquil, it almost feels like it’s out of this world. So when we heard that they were hosting their very own Ramadhan buffet promotion, we were only too delighted to indulge!

As a matter of fact, we were one of the first in line to taste their “Aneka Citarasa 7 Periuk” which features a sumptuous feast of local delights and international specialties. What sets this apart from all other Ramadhan buffets, you ask?

Well, the good people of The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur have invited seven of their chefs to come together to create the ultimate buffet spread.

And ultimate, it was.

Upon walking into Suria Café, we were greeted by stalls and stalls of food, from traditional Malaysian dishes that we all love, as well as an international spread from all over the world.

The first thing to scream for attention was the display of warm and toasty “lemang” and Sarawak bamboo chicken, which smelled and tasted as good as it looked.

But we were distracted by the next half a second by the sight of something a-roasting over slow fire.

Roast lamb.

We promise, you’ve never seen an imaginary cross-hair lock onto its target so fast. In an instant we knew what we’d be heading for first. But before we swept the cuts dry, we decided to venture on our little journey.

The pasta stall caught our attention because the hotel’s brand new Italian Chef, Filippo Giunta was demonstrating his pasta-making skills. If you were always under the impression that preparing good pasta was difficult, well, this chef did it like it was creating history for “the easiest pasta dishes to create ever”.

But it didn’t mean that it didn’t taste good. It was simplicity as its best!

Also, it was clear that we weren’t leaving without noticing Chef Minami’s finest – the fresh selection of sashimi. Chef Minami is from The Saujana Hotel’s Kogetsu Restaurant, famous for their traditional Japanese countryside fare.

That did it.

So we quickly grabbed our plates and piled it high with chunks of roast lamb and sashimi (read: show no mercy) before heading back into Suria Café. You can imagine how tempting it was to pile on more food on our plates when we saw the spread inside the café. And yes, you read right. More food.

Viola.

Oh, and this is testament to just how delectable the buffet spread was – this day was the day that we discovered how true the saying, “There’s always space for dessert” was. Well, either you run out of space for more sumptuous food or you find a way to make space for ’em.

If you have to ask, yes, we did go back for seconds.
