If rumours are to be believed, renowned Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi is going to be a mother soon.
According to Malay Mail Online, rumours and speculations regarding her possible pregnancy have emerged online, with various gossip sites claiming that she has recently retreated to the US to await the baby’s arrival.
Various gossip sites reported that the “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” actress has allegedly put everything on hold by turning down various film roles. She also declined to make public appearances after the promotional tour for her new sci-fi film “Oh My God (从天儿降)” ended last month.
To add fuel to the fire, her fiancé Wang Feng was recently spotted playing poker at a casino in Los Angeles (LA) by some eagle-eyed fans.
Earlier in August, Zhang caused a stir by appearing with a “baby bump” at the press conference for “Oh My God”. Actress Jiang Wen appeared to be pregnant too. As it turned out, both of their “baby bumps” are prosthetics. They showed up with fake baby bumps to complement their respective characters in the movie.
At that time, Zhang was in fact rumoured to be “pregnant” for at least 2 months. But neither her manager nor Wang’s representatives confirmed the report.
However, a source close to her family told Chengdu’s Huaxi Metropolitan Daily that her parents were thrilled about her pregnancy. If the report is true, she is expected to give birth this December.
Zhang, surprised to tears, answered a firm “yes” amid cheers and applause from an audience that included singers Na Ying and Wang Leehom, who was accompanied by his wife Lee Jinglei.
Directed by brothers Wei Nan and Wei Min, “Oh My God (从天儿降)”,tells the tale of 2 couples with a baby “delivered from the heavens. The movie stars EXO‘s Lay, Chen Xuedong, Jiang Wen, and Li Xiaolu. Zhang, who is the producer of the film, will make a special cameo appearance. It is due to be released on 4th December 2015.
