Zed Zaidi Thinks Limited Job Opportunities Caused Celebs’ Involvement In Prostitution Ring

A lot of fans were shocked to hear of female celebrities’ being involved in a high-end prostitution ring. Even the president of the Malaysian Artistes Association (Seniman), Zed Zaidi had something to say.

Zed clarified that this syndicate probably only involves a small group of celebs who opted to get rich quick. Limited job opportunities, especially amid the current Covid-19 situation, might be one of the factors as to why this happened.

“Our main setback now is social media. They use social media to show off their lavish lifestyles, when they are actually living beyond their means. It shows that they are most likely involved in such things. What worries us is that their actions will tarnish the image of the entertainment industry,” the actor told Harian Metro.

“Seniman will work closely with all government agencies to uncover the syndicate, in particular the police and MACC,” Zed vowed. They will also assist the government in fighting crimes involving celebrities; this includes money laundering and also corruption.

Previously, a source from MACC revealed that the agency had the name list of celebs who were allegedly involved in the illegal activities. The list, however, wasn’t meant to be made public. They are also currently in charge of monitoring the contents that these public figures share on their social media accounts.
