In the statement released, the agency noted that police investigations have ruled out criminal suspicion, alluding that the actor’s death was either an accident or a suicide. However, the statement raised suspicion amongst fans, who argued that the agency may be hiding details about Yu Menglong’s death.
A few days after the actor’s passing, new allegations have circulated online, sparking heated debate. In a lengthy Weibo post, Yu Menglong’s cousin listed several suspicions about the star’s death, including how he was drinking with a few unknown people. Additionally, one post alleged that the actor was crying and screaming on the night of his death. The posts led many to believe that Yu Menglong’s death wasn’t an accident but a premeditated homicide.
However, on 16th September 2025, Yu Menglong’s mother released a statement through his agency, urging the public to stop speculating about his death. The actor’s mother wrote, “The police have informed me of the investigation, and the funeral arrangements are complete. I hope everyone will view this incident rationally and refrain from speculation. I also hope to return to a peaceful life soon.”
Despite the letter, many fans are still sceptical. Some even argued that the agency forced Yu Menglong’s mother to release the statement to divert attention from the case. Others lamented that the statement may not be legitimate, as there is no way to prove that it came from the star’s mother. At the same time, others continue to press for a proper investigation into Yu Menglong’s sudden passing.
