If you follow our local internet personalities, you might have heard of power couple Charles Tee (拿督赛) and Mona (楊芮). The duo have been dating for several years now and even share a YouTube channel. However, it seems that will all be changing.
On 5th June, Mona revealed something which shocked many fans. Apparently, she and Charles are now living separately! Their split has left many fans devastated and bemoaning their broken relationship. As such, Mona decided to share a little of what happened.
Mona first broke the news with an innocuous photo on her Instagram. “New home,” she posted on her IG Story. “Just started my single life.” Fans were quick to ask after her and Charles, wondering what exactly had happened. Some even doubted her claim that they had broken up, given that Charles hadn’t posted anything on his socials.
“We did break up the other day,” Mona responded in another story. “I won’t go into detail about the issue, it’s all trivial matters.” However, the YouTuber did share that it was the result of several arguments piling up. “Looking back at the questions I wrote in my memo every time (we) quarrelled, the more I look at it, the more I get angry,” she said. “Then someone actually calmed me down. The calmer I was, the more disappointed I (became).”
Apparently, after their latest argument, Mona left their house to stay at a hotel. After three days, Mona felt it was time to move on and rented a place. However, she had to return to their house for a shoot. It was supposedly difficult for Mona as the maid and her cats had missed her dearly. But, she eventually decided to continue living apart from Charles.
Although the duo acted professionally during their filming, Charles later followed Mona to her new home. He had hoped to reconcile with her. Mona later added that while the two have made up, their relationship is currently on a “trial period”.
When asked if they would ever reconfirm their relationship, Mona seemed doubtful. According to her, she was far too disappointed with Charles at the moment. However, she is all for letting their relationship take its natural course. Well, only they can decide if their relationship is worth saving, we suppose!
