That’s exactly what happened to singer Yazmin Aziz. In case you didn’t know, she’s gotten herself a new beau. It started off with them just messaging each other on social media, before the two recently met in person with some help from their close friends. However, not everyone is happy for Yazmin and just how lovey-dovey she is with her new man.

Malaysian-Filipino singer-songwriter Yazmin Aziz posted on her Instagram last month, sharing with the world that she’s now in a relationship with professional football player Nixon Guylherme. She captioned the post, “Viva uma vida cheia de aventuras ✨” which translates to “Live a life full of adventures”. The singer can be seen snuggling up to her Brazilian boyfriend.
The 20-year-old recently told mStar that she wasn’t sure about the relationship at first. “I didn’t expect for him to fall in love with someone like me as this is his first time being in a relationship with an Asian woman. But he thought I was Latina at first,” she said. The relationship seems to be going well so far as the two, especially Yazmin, posted on their IGs of their time together.
The former “Big Stage” contestant is not shy about sharing her happiness with her followers, but unfortunately, not everyone is a fan of her showing off her love life. Apparently, the Malaysian-Filipino celeb got replies as well as DMs from netizens criticising her for not respecting boundaries as she is a Muslim.
Despite the backlash, Yazmin is still staying positive and accepted the fact that she can’t please anyone. “I understand where everyone is coming from. We all have our opinions. There are those who gave me their best wishes and are happy for me. But I can’t please everyone and that’s okay. I can only focus on being a better version of myself,” she told Gempak.
The “Lihatlah” songstress also revealed that she’s open to move to another country in the future with the Brazilian football player saying that they’ll do what it takes to make the relationship work. We wish these two nothing but the best for the future.
