Dating and marriage are seemingly hot topics in everyone’s lives. If you’re not seeing somebody, you must at least be interested in somebody. But, some people are understandably tired of marching along to this romantic tune. As it turns out, that includes Chinese actress Yang Mi (杨幂).
Yang Mi’s dating life hasn’t been the smoothest. Since divorcing her ex-husband Hawick Lau in 2018, Yang Mi has remained single, despite fans claiming otherwise. While some have been holding out for another beau, it seems it is not to be. Recently, the 36-year-old actress shared that her journey to find love is officially over!
During an interview with a magazine, Yang Mi was questioned about her relationship, or, the lack of one. The interviewer chalked it up to Yang Mi’s busy work schedule. However, the actress’s response to that was a simple, but surprising one. “Now, I don’t have the slightest interest in dating,” she laughed. “It’s over.”
Yang Mi attributed her lack of interest in dating to always being busy. “There are many things to do everyday. For example, there are a lot of drama scripts that I haven’t read, and those that I have, they aren’t detailed enough. It’s rare to have a day or two to rest.” she shared, adding that she preferred shopping for clothes in her spare time. “I don’t have time for relationships,” she said firmly.
The actress admitted that she had been interested in dating previously, saying it was something she “looked forward to”. However, that has since changed. “Now, I enjoy being single,” Yang Mi said. Her thoughts about dating have also solidified her feelings about the issue.
“I feel that falling in love is (all about) guessing. You guess (my feelings), I guess (yours), (we) guess each others and then we give a shit or something,” she explained. However, it seems Yang Mi has tired of the ‘guessing game’. “Time is too precious. If I am free today, I want to do other things so I don’t ‘guess’ (things) with anyone,” she added.
Fans have been praising Yang Mi’s thoughts about dating. Several admired her focus on her career while others are simply happy that she is content with living her own life. Well, we can’t deny that the actress seems happy with being a singleton.
