To marry or not to marry? That seems to be the question most people struggle to answer, growing up. Many urge getting married, usually out of fear of living life alone. However, some are perfectly fine with being single. For Chinese actress Xu Qing (许晴) aka Summer Qing, this is her choice.
Summer Qing has been career-focused from the time she debuted till now. However, Summer hasn’t been too big on her romance life. In fact at 53, she’s still fine with being single! Unfortunately, this has garnered some rather insensitive questions from people, such as this reporter who asked after her sexual needs.
The actress first caught people’s attention when she started in the 1990’s film “Life on a String (边走边唱)”. With a stunning performance, Summer went on to impress her audience in further works. By far, her most memorable roles were in “The Swordsman (笑傲江湖)” and “Mr. Six (老炮儿)”. In fact, she won Best Actress at the 33rd Hundred Flowers Awards in 2016.
Summer has always cut an eye-catching figure. Her physical beauty wasn’t all that captured hearts. Summer’s character has intrigued many as well, including actor and director Feng Xiao Guang (冯小刚). He reportedly once said he would have been with Summer, if it weren’t for the fact he had a family.
Well, the actress has seemed perfectly fine with being single all this while. However, to some, this is unfathomable. A reporter once asked how Summer dealt with her sexual needs as she is still single. Luckily, the actress seemingly took no offence and responded playfully instead. “Isn’t this a boy’s problem?” she asked.
Summer may be single, but clearly that hasn’t ruined life for her at all. Be it her emotional needs or physical ones, the actress has it all covered. If she ever does marry, we’re certain it will be to a very lucky guy!
