Jurin, the leader and main rapper of XG, will her solo debut as Jurin Asaya with “PS118 (feat. Rapsody)” on 18th November 2025. It’s XG’s first solo release and their first official guest collaboration. The news comes after a major year for the group, including Coachella 2025, a sold-out Tokyo Dome show, and their Billboard 200 entry with “AWE”, ahead of their full album “THE CORE – 核” in January 2026.
The rollout began on 24th October when XGALX posted a mysterious image saying “DEBUT SINGLE ‘PS118’.” Fans first guessed it might be a new XGALX group, but it was soon confirmed to be Jurin’s solo debut, marking the first time an XG member steps into the spotlight on their own.
Old-School Foundation, New-School Ambition

Built on an old-school hip-hop foundation, “PS118” explores JURIN’s artistic identity through the metaphor of traversing an infinite universe. According to the press release, the track highlights her strength and her belief in following her own path and frequency, untouched by outside opinions. It’s a theme of authenticity that runs through both artists’ work.
“For me, ‘PS118’ is a song about exploring and expanding my own universe,” JURIN explained. “Throughout this project, Rapsody and I deeply connected with each other’s journeys, exploring and traveling through our own universes. The whole process felt like we were flying through space together—it was pure fun!”
A Grammy Winner’s Seal of Approval

The collaboration pairs Jurin with Rapsody, the North Carolina rapper who won her first Grammy in 2024 for “3:AM” and is known for Grammy-nominated projects like Laila’s Wisdom and Eve, plus her work on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly. Praised by Dr. Dre as “my favorite female MC,” Rapsody’s involvement is a major milestone for Jurin, especially as someone who raps in English even though it isn’t her first language.
Rapsody was quick to acknowledge Jurin’s skill, saying she was “blown away” by her delivery and calling her verses “flawless.” She added that Jurin proved herself as a true MC and teased what fans can expect: “real rap, wordplay, and sharp rhymes—no fluff, just pure Jedi force.”
Why This Matters Now

Jurin’s solo debut marks a new step for XG, a group known for their “X-POP” blend of hip-hop and R&B and their growing global presence. They’ve already made history on Billboard charts and magazine covers, and her solo debut follows the trend of members exploring their own artistry while still supporting the group.
Choosing to debut with a featured artist instead of a solo-only track shows real ambition. Starting off with a collaborator as respected as Rapsody signals confidence and places Jurin directly within a wider hip-hop landscape—not just the J-pop or K-pop world—while potentially setting the stage for more solo ventures from other members.

“PS118 (feat. Rapsody)” drops 18th November 2025, ahead of XG’s first full album “THE CORE – 核” in January. For now, JURIN ASAYA’s solo journey has officially begun.
