Pretty sure most people have an inevitable fear of the ceiling crashing down on us anytime, right? Well, this time, it happened for real! In Kuching, a female worker in a boutique at Vivacity Megamall, suffered head injuries after the ceiling of the shopping mall crashed down on her at 10am, today.
The police commissioner in Sarawak, Datuk Aidi Ismail said that this incident involved the boutique located on the first floor of the shopping mall.
According to him, during the incident, the victim was in the boutique and has suffered from minor head injuries from the debris. Adding on, he said, “The victim has been brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) by the security guards for treatment.”
The victim would also be lodging a police report soon and the source of the incident is yet to be known. As of now, the process of renovation and cleaning are in the works.
Nevertheless, it is extremely important to be cautious regardless of the location. Accidents could happen anywhere however, authorities and the management of malls and buildings should definitely have accountability for any mishaps occurring on the premises.
