The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards was a huge moment for “Black Panther”. The Marvel blockbuster won best movie, while Chadwick Boseman took home 2 prizes and Michael B. Jordan won for his super good supervillain performance.

Host Tiffany Haddish addressed some of the many firsts this year. “It’s been a year of firsts for black people. I’m the first black woman to host the MTV Movie and TV Awards. ‘Black Panther’ is the 1st African-American movie to make a billion dollars. And ‘The Quiet Place’ is the 1st film to scare black people outta talking’ in movie theatres just for real,” the comedian said during her opening monologue.
