New Chef, new menu at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur

Source: IG@laichingyuen.kl

Lai Ching Yuen at the Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur is thrilled to welcome Guest Chef Lee Kook Siong for two special evenings this June. Chef Lee, who recently worked at 藝 yì by Jereme Leung at Raffles Singapore, hails from Ipoh and is a well-known figure in Malaysia’s culinary scene.

Chef Lee’s menu at Lai Ching Yuen will feature exquisite Cantonese dishes, showcasing his creativity and deep knowledge. One highlight is the Steamed Red Star Grouper Fillet with Jin Hua Ham and Mushrooms (麒麟金华扎红鱼), a dish that revives a popular banquet style from the 70s and 80s. The fish is carefully deboned, sliced, and wrapped in beancurd skin with ham and mushrooms, offering a blend of smokiness and subtle sweetness. Another standout is the Dried Scallop & Egg White Fried Rice (带子瑶柱蛋白炒饭), which uses silky egg whites and dried scallops for a fragrant texture. This dish is complemented by Wok-fried Tiger Prawns with Hong Kong Kai Lan & Crispy Squid (脆尤片香港芥兰炒虾球).

For dessert, guests can enjoy the Deep-fried Coconut Pancake (怀旧椰蓉春卷), featuring a grated coconut filling sweetened with Gula Melaka in a golden crepe. This dish offers a nostalgic nod to the Coconut Bun of 80s Hong Kong, enhanced with a local twist. Chef Lee’s holistic experience and commitment to excellence promise a memorable dining experience for Lai Ching Yuen’s patrons.

Date : 6th June (Thursday) – 7th June (Friday)

Time : 6.30 pm – 10.30pm

Embark on a French Culinary Adventure at Le Midi, Crowne Plaza KLCC

The newly opened Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre hotel introduces Le Midi, a French brasserie, bar, and terrace located on Level 32. Offering a blend of Parisian chic ambiance and breathtaking city skyline views, Le Midi invites guests to indulge in handcrafted cocktails, imported French wine, and traditional French specialties as ‘Escargot à la Provencale’ (Burgundy snails baked in a casserole with garlic butter and parsley and served with bread crusts), ‘Marseille Bouillabaisse’ (a rustic fish stew that is emblematic of the port city of Marseille), ‘Alsatian Tarte Flammkuchen’ (Alsatian flat bread coated with crème fraîche or sour cream, and topped with an assortment of ingredients), and ‘Cote De Boeuf’ (a bone-in ribeye steak that is grilled in a Josper grill with charcoal and then finished off in an oven).

Whether enjoying a meal in the brasserie, sipping drinks on the terrace, or hosting private gatherings, Le Midi promises an unmatched culinary experience rooted in authentic French flavours and techniques, making it a must-visit dining destination in Kuala Lumpur for both locals and tourists.

Le Midi welcomes guests for dinner and drinks every day (excl. Monday) as follows:

  • Bar and Terrace: 3pm – 12am
  • Dinner: 6pm – 10.30pm
