Onitsuka Tiger has embarked on a second partnership with the Doitung Development project, a brand of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation, which enjoys great recognition and trust in Thailand following the success of the first project in SS21.

With support from the Thai Royal Family, the foundation develops and manages a number of projects in Thailand and other Asian countries, especially products using uniquely designed original hand-woven fabrics made of sustainable materials.

This partnership between Thai craftsmanship and Onitsuka Tiger’s iconic footwear also advances meaningful employment and inspires positive social action. Wearing these exceptional shoes, which reflect Thailand’s rich culture and natural environment, serves as a powerful representation of the enduring friendship between Thailand and Japan.

This round will see Onitsuka Tiger and the Doitung Development Project collaborate on new exclusive textile designs on three of Onitsuka Tiger’s models – MEXICO 66™, MEXICO 66™ PARATY and SERRANO™ CL, where the hand woven textiles made in Doitung’s workshop were redesigned based on their original pattern. In addition, as a point of updating from the previous project, all yarns of the hand-woven textile are made of 100% PET recycled yarn. Suede and synthetic leather used for reinforcement are all made from recycled materials.
