We’re Nostalgic Over The New Balance X Joe Freshgoods 1000 Collab

There’s nothing like a classic. That’s why die-hard New Balance fans are thrilled to know that the classic 1000 is set to make a major comeback this year. Not only that, but this archival shoe from 1998 is set to have some collaborations with the A-list Canadian fashion brand Joe Freshgoods.

In honour of this collaboration, 1000 shoes are receiving a brand new colour scheme, a mix of black and grey shades that surrounds copper-tone iridescent overlays. There’s also a classic gum outsole plus a custom “jfg” hit surrounded by a circle on both the heel and the mint green insoles.

Dubbed “Black Ice,”  these cool-looking sneakers are designed to be a total heel turn in the typical colour scheme that we are all familiar with when it comes to the original version of the 1000. Typically aimed at men because of their strong colour palette, these striking pairs can help revitalise some nostalgic memories while still being new all the same.

However, if you are looking for a more cute colour scheme, then you’re in luck, as the reintroduced footwear will also be available in the “Pink Mink” colour. Contrasting with the skater boy colour scheme of the previous pair, this version of the 1000 features a tamer pink-beige-white, reminiscent of ballet leotards (if you understood the reference there, then you are a kid of the early 2000s).

These classic shoes are expected to hit store shelves this April. Stay tuned to New Balance’s website for more.
