After taking over cinemas with its intense plot and superb acting earlier this year, New Line Cinema’s “Weapons” is finally getting a streaming release. Now, horror fans all over the world can catch this critically acclaimed film at the comfort of their home with HBO Max.
The Warner Bros. Picture release will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on 24th October 2025 (Friday). “Weapons” centers on a terrifying mystery where all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanishes on the same night at 2:17am, leaving a community to question who or what is behind their disappearance. The film stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.

Filmmaker Zach Cregger directs the hit movie from his own screenplay. He also produces the film alongside Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin executive producing. Since its release in early August, “Weapons” has been met with many praises from film buffs and horror fans. Many even called the movie one of the best horror films in recent history.
The release also comes as HBO Max announces its expansion to 15 new markets, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Macau and Ukraine. With this expansion, more viewers can experience the highest quality in entertainment from brands like HBO, Max Originals, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Warner Bros. and Discovery, and enjoy the biggest blockbusters, award-winning series, real-life stories and family favorites, all in one place.

Subscribers can now watch global hit series such as “Game of Thrones”, “House of the Dragon”, “The Last of Us”, “The Penguin” and “The Pitt”. Additionally, October will see exciting premieres, including “IT: Welcome to Derry” on 27th October. Hit movies like “M3GAN 2.0”, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” and “How To Train Your Dragon” will also be available in the coming months.
