After a painful period of facing abuse from her former agency, which led to multiple health complications, Chinese actress Zhao Lusi (赵露思) has steadily recovered and emerged stronger. However, the star still gets emotional talking about the hardships she faced.
On 8th November 2025 (Saturday), Zhao Lusi held an event to celebrate her 27th birthday, which falls on 9th November 2025 (Sunday). The event featured talk sessions and live performances from the star. However, during one of the fan interaction segments, the actress opened up about her painful past with her former company, even admitting that she thought she could never act again.

Through her tears, the star said, “Two months ago, I really felt that I couldn’t be an actress anymore. So, being able to see everyone here today makes me emotional. I’m so happy because it’s been so hard! So incredibly hard! But I missed you all, and it brought me back to this stage. It made me feel that even being sick isn’t a big deal, because I can continue to do what I want to do. Thank you.”
Earlier this year, Zhao Lusi exposed her former agency and manager for mental and physical abuse. The actress also claimed her management breached their contract and forced her to shoulder financial debt. As a result of the agency’s abuse, the starlet suffered multiple health issues, including aphasia, and was diagnosed with depression. Thankfully, she has signed with a new agency, hinting at a new beginning.

During her birthday event, Zhao Lusi also revealed that she has established a new management studio, prompting cheers from the crowd. The new studio is reportedly a partnership with Hujing Digital Media and Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group. Many fans hope that this new studio will bring more acting opportunities for the star and a brighter future.
At the moment, Zhao Lusi doesn’t seem to have any projects in the works, likely because she’s taking her time to recover. Nevertheless, we wish the star the best in her career and may she return to acting stronger than before. Check out some clips from her birthday event below:
