Actress-turned-influencer Zarina Anjoulie has never been afraid to speak her mind or even spill some tea about the entertainment industry. Just last week, the mother-of-one made a shocking revelation that local celebrities don’t make that much money, which explains why some explore side hustles like entrepreneurship or producing sponsored content on their social media.
While the actress has always encouraged everyone to do what they can to make a living, she doesn’t necessarily agree that one should show off their wealth, and give the wrong impression. Here’s what she said:
Yesterday (Monday, 10th June), the full episode of Zarina Anjoulie’s appearance on Astro’s “No Filter” show was posted on YouTube where she answered some very spicy questions from not only the host Sara Azlan but from netizens as well. At one point during her interview, the “Gerak Khas” star was asked whether her reviews online can be trusted as some feel she’s doing it to please her clients.
“These things are subjective but yes I do carefully choose which products I want to review. If I had just accepted every offer, I would be rich by now,” she said. While the 36-year-old said she’s grateful for her income, she wanted to make it known she’s not one to flaunt her wealth like other celebs. “It’s not like I own a BMW. I still don’t have one. My wealth is not to the extent that I’d show off a Dior handbag in front of Pavilion [Kuala Lumpur] and do all these kinds of poses,” she quipped.
While the public figure didn’t mention any names, we can think of a few celebs who have bought BMWs for themselves or splurge on their pet. Both Zarina and Sara laughed it off with the latter fondly “reprimanding” the former saying that it was not nice to make such assumptions about her peers.
Apart from the topic of wealth, Zarina also opened up about her acting career, adding how she’s not ashamed to admit she had work done on her body and how she has helped her fans deal with their marital issues.
When asked if she has plans to get married soon, the content creator hinted that she may have plans to tie the knot with her current boyfriend Datuk Seri Elzy but remained tight lipped on her love life.
