There has been a lot of talk about bullying recently, following the tragic death of Zara Qairina, a Form One student at SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha in Papar, Sabah. It has been alleged that severe bullying contributed to her death, although investigations are still ongoing. The incident has since sparked conversations among netizens, as well as celebrities, about how bullying cases are generally handled in schools.
One celebrity who has spoken out about the tragedy is rapper Yonnyboii, who is himself a victim of bullying. He opened up about his experience during a recent interview. Shortly after he shared his story, his wife, Nik Nazira, revealed her own experience of meeting her husband’s bullies, who shamelessly asked to take a photo with him.
Earlier this week, during his appearance on Hot.fm, Yonnyboii spoke about how being bullied in school had traumatised him. To this day, he has not been able to forget the things that were done to him. The musician also revealed that he had recently encountered his bullies, who showed no sign of remorse. “I wasn’t really expecting an apology or anything like that, but it bothers me that they’re not remorseful. They forgot everything that happened, but I will remember it until the day I die,” he told the host.
His wife, Nik Nazira, took to Threads to provide more details about the encounter, explaining how the bullies treated him after he gained success. “We’ve bumped into those bullies once or twice. They never apologised but asked for photos together, acting like they’ve always been good friends. After being married for half a decade, I taught my husband to be firm, to never care abt sounding like a b*tch. Life’s too short to be a people pleaser,” she wrote.
She then revealed that although her husband is still traumatised by his past experience, he’s no longer the same timid person he used to be. She ended the post by advising people to stand up for themselves and do what’s right for them. We’re glad to know Yonnyboii is doing better in life and has an amazing, supportive and protective wife by his side.
