If you were at Sunway Pyramid or The Exchange TRX over the weekend, you may have noticed the huge crowd gathering at these shopping centres. The reason being? Two Korean celebrities: actor Yeo Jin Goo (여진구) and GOT7 member Mark Tuan (마크/段宜恩), made special appearances at the aforementioned venues respectively.
The former was part of the celebrity lineup for the ONE Astro Fan Fest event, while the latter’s appearance was at a meet-and-greet event in collaboration with the health and beauty brand Yukazan. During their respective events, the two took part in a TikTok challenge that’s been trending lately in Malaysia. Here’s what they did:
You’ve probably come across the “Majuk” trend on social media. The challenge is simple: cross your arms while cutely uttering the words “hmmph! majuk!” (Merajuk) to the camera before facing away with a sulking expression on your face. Let’s start off with Yeo Jin Goo. The “Hijack 1971” star had fans screaming with excitement when he successfully did the adorable challenge on stage at the ONE Astro Fan Fest event.
The 27-year-old then covered his face in embarrassment and playfully waved goodbye to the fans before seemingly walking off the stage. Don’t worry, he quickly turned around and carried on with the event.
Meanwhile, over at Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX, Mark Tuan asked the host if she could teach him some Malay words, which led to her teaching him how to do the challenge. Unlike the actor, the idol only cutely attempted to say the word “majuk” without crossing his arms. When asked if he wanted to give it another try, the singer shook his head, flustered. Still, the moment was captured on camera by many adoring fans who appreciated his effort.
Throughout the event, Mark brought joy and laughter to the stage as he played 3 types of interactive games with 15 lucky fans, including creative challenges putting on eye patches on the face with Yukazan’s latest innovative Bright Eye Patch, a fun self-care charade, and challenging game of filling up the bottle of Mark Tuan x Yukazan shower oil bottle.
