You can be the most talented and skilful person in your area of expertise but sadly, those things do not matter to some people if you do not “look the part”. Celebrities, of course, have always been easy targets when it comes to body shaming.
Some have stood up for themselves against these harsh comments while others chose to stay silent to avoid dragging the issue even further. Actress Jasmin Hamid has never been one to accept the online abuse coming her way. In her recent livestream, the 51-year-old gave netizens a piece of her mind after they commented about her weight.

Earlier today (Thursday, 20th June), Jamin Hamid posted a moment from her livestream on Instagram where she responded to comments about her body shape. “I can’t be skinny, I can’t be fat. What is it that you guys want from me? Do you want me to be skinny or fat? Which one is it? Cause when I’m skinny, you’ll say I’m sick but when I’m fat, you’ll criticise me!” she complained.
In the video’s captions, the actress further elaborated that it is impossible to please everyone saying that they’ll always find fault in everything. “If I’m fat, you’ll say I don’t take care of my body. When I’m skinny, you’ll say that I have diabetes. There’s no winning. Just calm down won’t you?” she added. While it was upsetting that she received such unnecessary comments during the broadcast, thankfully, the “Jodoh Buat Mia” star’s fans showed her nothing but love and support after she posted the video.

Some advised Jasmin to ignore the haters as she’s perfectly fine the way she is. Others said that her weight or body shape shouldn’t matter to anyone so long as she’s healthy. This goes to show that while there is nothing wrong with being concerned about one’s health, sometimes it’s better to keep your opinions and comments to yourself.
