Hong Kong actress Nancy Wu (胡定欣) recently shared the joyous news that she has tied the knot with her boyfriend, Akin Chan (陳健華). Considering their low-key relationship, many fans were curious about how the two met. As it turns out, Bob Lam (林盛斌) was the one responsible for their romance.
On 6th October 2025 (Monday), Nancy took to Instagram to announce her marriage to Akin, a surgeon affiliated with Doctors Without Borders. The couple tied the knot on 3rd October 2025 (Friday). According to reports, the two met through their mutual friend, actor Tony Hung (洪永城). However, it was later revealed that Bob Lam was the one who formally introduced the two to each other and paired them up.
In an interview with a news outlet, Bob said he knew Akin through Tony and felt that he would be a good match for Nancy. As such, the star planned a get-together with their group of friends, hoping that it would be the perfect opportunity for Nancy and Akin to get to know each other. Fortunately, the pair hit it off and would later begin dating. Bob also revealed that the couple had been together for over a year before they announced their marriage.
This revelation also brought up Bob’s previous wish to find Nancy a partner. Back in 2022, the host quipped that he wanted to be a matchmaker for the actress, noting how long she’s been single. Because of this, many netizens were impressed with Bob’s success at finding Nancy her Mr Right. Some even joked that he should be paid or compensated by the actress for helping find her life partner.
Interestingly, Nancy and Akin aren’t the only couple that Bob had successfully paired up. In fact, the 46-year-old has made a name for himself as a “Golden Matchmaker” in the Hong Kong entertainment circle. Thanks to his wide network of connections, he has paired up 10 couples. He was also the one who introduced actress Queenie Chu to her cardiologist husband and even had the honour of walking her down the aisle at her wedding ceremony.
It’s safe to say that Bob fulfilled his wish of finding Nancy a partner, and from what he shared, Akin seems like a great match. We once again congratulate Nancy and Akin on their marriage, and may their love last a lifetime.
