It seems that Nigel Ng, a.k.a Uncle Roger, has found himself in a bit of trouble again. After posting a clip of him making a joke about China, the orange polo tee-clad comedian has gotten his Weibo account banned for violating relevant laws and regulations.

The clip, posted on Nigel’s Twitter account, is a preview of his upcoming stand-up special, “THE HAIYAA SPECIAL”. In the clip, the comedian asked an audience member where he is from, to which he replied, Guangzhou, China. Nigel then repeated “China is a good country”, before making a pained expression.

The performer continued, “We have to say that now, huh? All the phone(s) (are) listening. This nephew got (a) Huawei phone, they (are) all listening”, before imitating a person repeating the phrase “Long live President Xi” to a phone strapped to a belt. He then joked, saying, “Uncle Roger social credit score going up. Nice”.

The comedian continued his bit by asking if any of the audience members were from Taiwan. After he got a few cheers from the crowd, he then jokingly added, “Not a real country. Hope one day you rejoin the motherland. One China.”

The Malaysian-born entertainer quipped that he was going to be cancelled after the show. He then concluded his bit by asking the first audience member to write a good social report for him to the Chinese government, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), saying “Dear CCP, Uncle Roger good comrade. Don’t make him disappear please.” Of course, it was no coincidence that after the clip went viral on the Internet, the comedian got his Weibo account banned.

At the time of writing, the ban is still being enforced. While he hasn’t addressed the ban, Nigel did retweet the video clip, sarcastically asking why the clip has gotten a lot of views over the weekend. We can’t help but wonder why too, Uncle Roger 😉
