Having a baby is not easy, from conception to childbirth. Recently, Her Highness, Tunku Azizah and Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza made a special appearance together at the grand opening ceremony of the Alhaya Fertility Centre at the Damansara Specialist Hospital 2. During the press conference, the Pahang Royal shared the story of how the singer nearly lost her life when giving birth to her first child Siti Aafiyah back in 2018.
“The fact that Siti is alive here today is a miracle,” the former Queen said. The story brought many, including the songstress, to tears as they could relate to her struggles of trying to have a child and experiencing the risks of giving birth. However, there were also those who criticised the entertainer for “making it a big deal”.
Ever since the story made headlines, several netizens slammed Siti Nurhaliza for making her childbirth story a bigger deal than it was, saying that she was not special as many women have gone through similar ordeals. Thankfully, Her Highness Tunku Azizah stepped in to defend the singer against the harsh comments.
Replying to a now-deleted comment by a netizen on TikTok, who ridiculed the singer for her childbirth story, the Pahang Royal family member explained, “Calm down. It wasn’t Siti who shared this story. I was the one who shared her story with reporters that day”. The insensitive comment has since been removed, perhaps the user thought better than to argue with the former Queen of Malaysia. However, there is currently no information if the netizen has formally apologised to Siti for the rude remarks.
Siti Nurhaliza is not usually one to share about her personal struggles but she once shared about her journey with IVF (In vitro fertilisation). In a YouTube video posted 3 years ago, the singer went through the process of IVF when she was trying to have her second child Muhammad Afwa. She previously went through the same procedure after struggling to have her first child with her husband Dato’ Sri Khalid, famously known as Dato K.
