Milo is a favourite drink among Malaysians, especially children. It’s also no secret that the chocolate-flavoured drink is also very popular in our neighbouring country Indonesia. Having said that, did you know that the two don’t necessarily taste exactly the same?

An Indonesian man was not convinced that Milo tastes the same in both countries so he decided to do a little experiment to show the similarities and differences. Watch his comparison:

Indonesian TikToker @dongugel recently posted a video on his TikTok channel that showed him conducting a little experiment to find out if Milo in Indonesia tastes the same as the ones in Malaysia. In the video, he bought a couple of chocolate drink sachets from a nearby store and presented a packet of the same drink he got from a friend who just returned from Malaysia.

To make the experiment fair, the content creator clarified that they were not the 3-in-1 instant Milo. He then poured the same amount of powder and water into the two glasses and true enough, the difference in colour was quite apparent. The one from Malaysia has a darker shade compared to the one from Indonesia. After mixing the two glasses, the TikToker took a sip from each glass.

Based on the colour, he described that the Milo from Indonesia is creamier and sweeter with the chocolate flavour not being too overpowering whereas the one from Malaysia is a lot more flavourful and fresh. He added that one can definitely enjoy with ice without worrying about the chocolate flavour fading. The drink reviewer concluded that he enjoyed Malaysia’s Milo more than Indonesia’s.

The viral video, which almost garnered 1 million views, received many comments from Malaysians, Indonesians, and even Singaporeans – where most agreed that Malaysia’s Milo tastes better. Some even recommended @dongugel to visit Malaysia and try the ones served from the Milo trucks as they’ve been known to be pretty addictive among locals.

There were also those who claimed that Australia’s Milo is superior, so maybe we’ll get to see a comparison in a future video. Which country do you think has the best Milo?
