Since the genocide in Palestine intensified in October 2023, many celebrities, including K-pop idols, have voiced their support for the liberation of the Palestinian people from Israel’s war crimes. Although one idol faced criticism for his initial thoughts on Israel in a resurfaced livestream, he has since educated himself on the issue and has expressed his solidarity with Palestine.
Not only that, but during his group’s recent concert, he openly carried and raised a Palestinian banner on stage. And who was this idol? It’s none other than Kevin (케빈) from THE BOYZ (더보이즈).

Earlier this week, THE BOYZ performed in Atlanta, United States, as part of their “THE BLAZE” world tour. Following the encore, as the members were bidding farewell to fans, Kevin spotted someone in the crowd holding a banner decorated with the Palestinian flag and the word “Palestine” written across it. He signalled the fan to toss the banner to him, and after catching it, the idol proudly raised it for everyone to see.
The moment quickly went viral on social media, with some fans claiming that Kevin had been pointing at the banner throughout the concert. Photos and videos of the incident circulated widely, with many praising the singer for showing his support for Palestine. Fans also noted that he is among the idols who have acknowledged past mistakes, educated themselves on the genocide and expressed solidarity through their social media platforms.

Others remarked that, although his actions could be seen as the bare minimum, they still commended him for proudly displaying the Palestinian flag and making his political stance on the matter clear. Fans also urged other K-pop idols to follow Kevin’s example by using their platforms and influence to educate and raise awareness among their own fanbases.
At the time of writing, THE BOYZ’s agency, One Hundred Label, has not commented on the viral posts. However, given the overwhelmingly positive reactions, particularly from international fans, some hope that this will inspire other THE BOYZ members and K-pop idols to take similar actions during future concerts.
