Two of the biggest names in the Thai entertainment industry are officially tying the knot after 11 years of dating. Actors Nattapong Chinsoponsap (ณัฐพงศ์ ชินโสภณทรัพย์), better known as Both (โบ๊ท), and Kitiwhut Sawutdimilin (กิตติวัฒน์ สวัสดิมิลินท์), a.k.a Newyear (นิวเยียร์), recently shared their engagement news with fans through social media.
The couple also shared a glimpse of the proposal in a TikTok video. In the video taken at the Mayfair Hotel in London, Both presented Newyear with a bouquet of roses before getting down on one knee to propose to his partner. The latter was shocked and began tearing up before gathering his emotions to say yes. The pair then shared more photos from the event on their social media accounts, even sharing a look at the engagement ring.
The two actors are well-known in the Thai Boys’ Love (BL) industry and have starred together as on-screen lovers in the show “Top Secret Together”. According to reports, Both and Newyear’s love story began in 2012 following an interaction on social media. The two even have a YouTube channel to showcase their life as a same-sex couple. Their engagement comes after Thailand legalised same-sex marriages earlier this June, becoming the first nation in Southeast Asia to do so.
However, this is the second time Both and Newyear got engaged. The pair previously announced their unofficial engagement in 2023, but Thailand had yet to legalise same-sex marriages at the time. The joyous news received tons of happy reactions from the public. Fans, particularly those who have known Both and Newyear for years, showered them with congratulatory messages. Many also took the opportunity to wish the two a lifetime of happiness.
