Let’s recap. Actor Syafi Tee is making headlines this week when a video of him went viral on social media. The video was apparently taken from his (now deleted) TikTok account showing him kissing a mystery woman, rumoured to be his girlfriend. The video has been reposted on Twitter by user @arifeddy12 and gained 67.7k views, 195 retweets and 59 quote tweets.
Other than kissing each other, the original TikTok video also showed the couple holding hands while going on a karaoke date. Netizens found the video’s content absolutely shocking, especially coming from the actor who is also the son of preacher and university lecturer Prof. Dr. Ridhuan Tee.
After the video went viral, netizens took the liberty of doing a little digging to find out more about the “Budak Intern” star’s girlfriend. When looking at the mystery woman’s Instagram profile, her bio apparently reads, “Im not woman, Im transgender🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️.” This new information is now making heads turn.
Other than the rumoured girlfriend’s bio, there is no way to confirm whether or not she is actually a transgender or if the bio was just a “joke”. Either way, that will not stop netizens sharing their thoughts on the recent discovery. Some are condemning the actor’s “haram” relationship while others came to his defense.
Some netizens’ comments in the replies are targeted towards the 29-year-old’s father, Ridhuan with some calling him a hypocrite as he would always give his thoughts and criticism on Malaysian celebrities’ beliefs and choices. Some users said that the preacher only knows how to mind others’ business except his own son.
Speaking of Ridhuan, he has spoken out about his son’s actions yesterday (Wednesday, 25th May). The Professor thanked everyone for their concerns and believes that all this is god’s test. “I admit I’m not perfect and it’s true that one’s Iman (faith) cannot be inherited. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else”, he said on his Facebook page.
