Nearly three weeks after his passing, beloved Hong Kong actor Benz Hui (許紹雄) has been laid to rest. The funeral service was held yesterday (Monday, 17th November 2025), with the cremation ceremony and funeral procession scheduled for later today (Tuesday, 18th November 2025).
The funeral service was held at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai. As a prominent figure in the Hong Kong film and television industry for half a century, many stars had attended Benz’s funeral service to pay their final respects. Amongst the celebrities spotted at the memorial hall were Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼), Nick Cheung (張家輝) and Bosco Wong (黄宗泽).

Benz’s family had previously requested that relatives and friends donate money instead of sending floral tributes. All the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation to honour Benz’s final wish. However, the funeral hall was filled with floral tributes from stars, including Louis Koo (古天樂), Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Jessica Hsuan (宣萱).
During the funeral service, Benz’s daughter Charmaine greeted the attending journalists, publicly addressing the media for the first time since her father’s death. She thanked the public for the love and support during a difficult time for her family, saying, “Seeing everyone’s message, I am really grateful. Everyone loves my father so much.”

When asked if she had any regrets about her father’s passing, she choked up and said, “My father was very responsible and took care of me for many years. My first regret is that I didn’t have enough time to be filial to him.” However, Charmaine said she had promised Benz that she would take care of her mother and her family in his place.
A public tribute hour was also held on the day of the funeral for fans to bid their final farewell. We once again extend our condolences to Benz’s family and loved ones, and we hope they can find strength during this difficult time.
