Those who attended Biduanita Negara Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza’s “Love Is In The Sky” concert 2 years ago may recall how she opened the show with a playful safety demonstration, stepping into the role of a flight attendant. It was a charming way to set the tone for the evening and offered fans a glimpse of what life might have been like had Siti chosen aviation over music.
Recently, the icon got to live out that fantasy, albeit briefly. On a flight with AirAsia to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, she was invited to the front of the cabin to deliver a “safety announcement” as well as a mini concert for the passengers. Watch:

It’s not every day you get to share a plane with a national treasure, but these lucky travellers enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience when Siti Nurhaliza herself took the mic, or in this case, the aircraft’s intercom. Just an hour before landing, she greeted the cabin with a few announcements before surprising everyone with a mini in-flight concert.
She delighted passengers by performing a snippet of her song “Menamakanmu Cinta” – talk about exclusive entertainment at 30,000 feet. To make the moment even more special, she invited fans to step forward and sing one of her hits for the chance to win a prize. Despite not specifying what the special prizes might be, a few brave souls took up the challenge, singing into the aircraft’s intercom to the cheers of fellow travellers.

Videos of the flight have since gone viral on social media, with many praising the star for her humility in choosing to travel economy and for her natural beauty as she boarded in casual clothing. Others expressed envy, saying they wished they had been among the passengers who were treated to a mini Siti Nurhaliza concert in the sky.
The legend herself also shared the experience on her official Instagram page, writing: “It’s not every day that I get to entertain passengers on a plane, but Alhamdulillah, I did my best while singing my song. The passengers didn’t go home empty-handed either, as AirAsia had prepared a prize of return airfare from any destination in Indonesia to Malaysia.”
