Malaysians continue to tune in to news reports for updates on the recent gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights. The shocking disaster also prompted reactions from local celebrities, who took to social media to share their thoughts and personal experiences.

For those unaware, a catastrophic gas pipeline explosion took place on 1st April 2025 (Tuesday) at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya. The cause of the fire was a leak in a Petronas gas pipeline. Flames reportedly stretched up to 500 metres and were visible from kilometres away. Nearly 200 homes were damaged, and over 300 residents were displaced. Thankfully, there were no fatalities recorded.

Following the news, several celebrities have come out to show support for the victims of the explosion. Singer Michael Wong (光良) shared a post on his Instagram Stories to wish those affected a speedy recovery. The vocalist, who also goes by Guang Liang, also extended gratitude to those taking part in rescue efforts. Similarly, Selangor Princess Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah also shared several Instagram Stories posts, sending her thoughts and prayers for the victims.

Shockingly, some celebrities were also near the explosion when it occurred. Television personality Aidid Marcello shared his experience of seeing the flames on Instagram, revealing that the fire happened near his grandmother’s house. He also said he tried to enter the area but couldn’t due to safety concerns. Aidid added that the heat of the flames was so intense that he could feel it even though he lived further out.

Actor Raja Syahiran was also in the surrounding area when the explosion happened. According to reports, the 31-year-old left his car at his uncle’s home, which was near the affected area. The actor entered the area to rescue his vehicle, only to discover that it had melted due to the extreme heat. While saddened by his loss, Syahiran also expressed relief after learning there were no casualties, noting that the neighbourhood looked like a warzone.
