(Video) “Shortcut To The Afterlife”: Netizens Amused By Paradigm Mall JB’s Unfinished Slide

A great deal can happen at a shopping centre. For instance, many were baffled when a man chose to illegally go fishing in The Mines mall recently. Prior to that, a certain Korean star was mobbed by a sea of fans during a special appearance at an event at IOI City Mall. While this latter sighting at a shopping centre was neither illegal nor chaotic like the aforementioned incidents, it was certainly just as baffling.

Over the weekend, a TikTok user who goes by @/happyboy16_ or Asry posted a video on his channel of the latest attraction he saw at Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru. The video showcased a large yellow slide being installed from what appears to be the 4th floor.

At first glance, the slide appeared normal, but as the video progressed, the user revealed that it extended only halfway down, not even reaching the ground floor. Clearly, the slide is still under construction, but its half-finished state added a humorous touch, making it seem as though mall visitors would fall from the slide directly in front of the Llaollao stall on the ground floor.

“The slide in this mall is awesome but I’m so scared now. You’ll go straight to that Llaollao store down there,” the uploader joked in the video. The TikTok post quickly went viral with now over 655.6k views at the time of writing. Netizens were both puzzled and amused by the sight of the unfinished attraction with many joining in on the joke.

Some suggested that Paradigm Mall shoppers would either be “isekai-ed” (transported to another realm) or hospitalised upon reaching the bottom. Others joked that the slide served as a shortcut to the afterlife.

Additionally, some humorously claimed that anyone who reached the Llaollao store at the bottom would instantly become a staff member. Jokes aside, we’re looking forward to seeing what the finished product will look like once constructions are done. Would you try it out?

Update (16th October)

Following the success of their indoor adventure park at Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya, the same team will be featuring exciting attractions at Paradigm Mall JB, including obstacle courses, massive slides, trampoline zones, and more! Check out some of the things you can expect to experience below and be sure to stay tuned for more updates.
