With Raya celebrations fast approaching, many Muslims continue to frequent clothing stores for some Raya shopping. Unfortunately, the behaviour of some shoppers has left netizens annoyed.
TikTok user Iqa Nabila recently shared the aftermath of a MUAZ Wholesale Emporium store after shoppers ransacked the place during their shopping spree. The user took the video at the store’s Plaza Alam Sentral branch on a Friday. For those unfamiliar, MUAZ is a chain of wholesale stores that sell Muslim-friendly clothing. Sadly, the place was in a complete mess, with items removed from its packaging and piled on display shelves.

As Iqa walked the store, more clothes were piled up on the floor, making it hard for other shoppers to move around. In the video, the TikTok user said, “Look at this. What is wrong with you guys? I don’t blame the MUAZ staff. I blame those who came and ransacked the store.”. In her captions, Iqa continued lamenting some shopper’s behaviour, schooling them to keep items in their packaging and not throw stuff onto the floor.
The video was also reshared on Twitter, attracting more netizens’ reactions. Many of the comments echoed Iqa’s sentiment, lamenting the chaos in the store after peak shopping hours. Unfortunately, many also pointed out this is not a secluded issue because other MUAZ stores suffer the same fate. Others lamented that, unfortunately, the store’s low price attracts shoppers with little discipline and no consideration for the staff.

However, many also said the fault lies with the customers because the staff have placed signs around the store telling customers not to take items out of packaging. Some also remarked that MUAZ staff must have a lot of patience because they have to deal with unruly customers. At the same time, others said the store should try a different sales approach of keeping stocks away from customers to reduce the risk of them making a mess while shopping.
With just a week to go to Hari Raya, we’re sure some people are still visiting stores for some last-minute shopping. However, we urge everyone to be considerate in these stores and keep spaces neat.
