A few days ago (Saturday, 11th May), Rozita Che Wan held an open house at Lantera Venue, Shah Alam where she invited various artists who have worked with her, close friends and family. However, who would have thought one particular picture with a guest would go viral?

The actress, known affectionately as Che Ta, expressed dismay over netizens’ harsh criticism of her friend, fellow actress Fathia Latiff’s appearance at an open house event recently. Che Ta condemned the act of face-shaming, emphasising that such behaviour should not be tolerated. She urged those inclined to make derogatory comments about others’ appearances to reflect on their own before passing judgment.

During an interview with mStar, the 51-year-old actress voiced her surprise and frustration at the online backlash faced by Fathia and herself following a picture together. She stressed the importance of refraining from engaging in negative criticism and challenged critics to assess their own beauty before scrutinizing others’. Che Ta’s sentiments were shared during her event held in Shah Alam, where she passionately expressed her stance against cyberbullying.

Additionally, the mother-of-one extended her sympathy towards Fathia, acknowledging the actress’s frequent encounters with online criticism. Despite not knowing the specifics of Fathia’s experiences, Che Ta called for public support and empathy towards her colleague. Reflecting on their professional relationship, the former beauty queen highlighted their shared work experiences, acknowledging Fathia’s challenges while affirming her unwavering support for friends in times of difficulty.

Netizens expressed support for Che Ta’s words, they understood Fathia’s feelings, saying, “I also felt like I want to change my looks after being rejected.” A netizen laughed at Che Ta’s “elbow” comment (in the above interview clip) where she got heated up when someone called Fathia “old for her age.” It’s nice to see the former model’s loyalty towards her friend.
