(Video) Real Or Fake? Netizens React To Raining Money On The Streets Of KL

At some point in our lives, we probably have wished for money to magically fall from the sky. As ridiculous as that sounds, some extra cash wouldn’t really hurt. Some people have actually tried to make this dream come true by “making it rain” from an upper floor of a shopping centre.

If you were to one day walk around in the city and find money falling from the sky and scattered all over the pavement, would you ignore the strange phenomenon or would you take the opportunity to grab some of that magical cash?

Jangan tamak.. tinggalkan untuk orang lain juga. Ok nak pergi beli vacuum jap. #rezeki #harzachvfx #vfx #vfxchallenge #cgi

Content creator HarZach or @harzachvfx on TikTok posted a video on his channel earlier this week of him picking up Malaysian Ringgit notes that were falling from the sky and onto a pavement in Kuala Lumpur, nearby the Petronas Twin Towers. As seen in the video above, the scattered cash consisted of RM5, RM10, RM20, and RM50 notes. “Don’t be greedy, save some for others. Okay, I’m going to buy a vacuum now,” he captioned.

The TikTok post quickly went viral now reaching over 3.6 million views, 148k likes, and 6.3k comments at the time of writing. A reposted video on Twitter by user @localrkyt also went viral with over 500k views. Netizens were baffled at the raining money content with many demanding to know the location so they could try their luck in finding and collecting some leftover cash.

Some, especially those in the working class, were not so keen on the idea of using and wasting money for content that’s considered pointless as it could’ve been donated to the less fortunate. There were also a few mothers who wished to have that money to pay for their children’s school expenses and supplies.

While HarZach picking up the RM50 note was real, the rest of the video was actually fake. What many netizens didn’t realise was that the influencer is actually a Visual Effects artist and that the scattered and raining money was edited in the video. The content creator posted a follow-up breakdown snippet to showcase how the cash was added in to make it seem real.

At the time of writing, HarZach has yet to give a statement regarding netizens being fooled by his recent content. For your information, the TikToker was also the one responsible for the viral “The Last Of Us” videos where he showed what KL would look like during a zombie apocalypse.
