There have been several scary plane incidents that looked as though they came straight out of a horror movie. People feared for their lives when a passenger suddenly opened the emergency exit door of a plane while it was still in the air. A similar incident almost happened on another flight where a teenager tried to open the door before he was stopped by the cabin crew.

This latest incident is an example of fiction becoming a reality as passengers discovered something slithering around above the overhead compartment of the plane they boarded. That’s right, there was a snake on a plane! Here’s what happened:

If the movie “Snakes On A Plane” didn’t traumatise these passengers, this incident definitely will. Circulating all over social media since yesterday (Tuesday, 16th January), a video showed a small snake slithering just above the passengers of a Thai AirAsia flight from Bangkok to Phuket. According to several reports, it was said that the incident happened on 13th January when the plane was about to land at its destination.

The presence of the tiny reptile made the passengers worry as they asked the flight attendants for assistance. After pointing out where the snake was seen, a male cabin crew tried to catch the scaly critter by luring it into an empty water bottle but it refused to enter the “trap”. After a few tries, they successfully captured the snake in the bottle.

The snake was later identified as a Blanford’s Bridle; non-venomous and completely harmless. As expected, after the video went viral, many referenced the “Snakes On A Plane” movie in their comments. Some joked that the snake simply wanted to go on a holiday as well. Others were genuinely curious as to how the slithery creature got on the plane in the first place.

After the AirAsia Airbus A320 landed at Phuket International Airport, security questioned passengers and checked their bags, but so far none of them have admitted to smuggling a snake on the plane. At the time of writing, there has been no update on this incident and Thai AirAsia has yet to release an official statement.

This was not actually the first time a snake was discovered on an AirAsia flight as there was a similar incident that happened back in the year 2022. How would you have reacted if this was your flight?
